Which Ring is Which?
There are many factors that go into
determining the price of a ring--the metal
and its purity, craftsmanship, gemstone
quality & size, and whether or not the ring
includes other stones or diamonds. The rings
at left, for example, are all set with
garnets but range in price from around $100
to a bit under $4,000. With the clues below
can you guess which is which? The remaining
two are a little over $1,000 and just under
$500.
- The metals, in order from lowest to
highest price, are silver, 10 karat
gold, 14 karat gold, and platinum.
- The ring with the finest
craftsmanship is also platinum.
- The ring with diamond accents is
also 10 karat gold.
