A "black diamond" ring may be made of several materials. Natural
black diamonds are rare and can be rather expensive. However, advances in
technology have given scientists and jewelers the ability to create black
diamonds in the lab, making them more reasonably priced. You will also find men's
rings that combine regular diamonds with black onyx or enamel, creating a
similar effect.
Should you prefer these or "regular" diamonds? the price
is about the same either way, so it depends completely on preference.
Many believe the black version to be more masculine, but just as many do
not. Beyond the obvious (color), think about how important "sparkle" is
to you. These shine a bit, but do not have the many-faceted twinkle of
